Frances Irene Reeves



 


Frances Irene Reeves, born on April 3, 1920, passed away after a lengthy illness the morning of May 2. Frances had been a resident of Corpus Christi and a member of First United Methodist Church for 65 years.

Frances is survived by her beloved husband, Tommy, of 66 years, and by her three children, her sons, Tom and Jim Reeves of Dallas, and daughter, Linda DiFeo of Houston.

Son Robert Alvis Reeves and Daughter Patti Kirkpatrick preceded their mother in death.

Frances is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Frances loved her church and contributed her talents to the church throughout her 65 years of membership. She taught Sunday School for many years and was very active in the junior and senior high departments. Her piano playing was enjoyed by many groups in the church during her years of service. In 1954, Frances and her husband began the Christian Adventure Camp program for the junior and senior high school members. For 50 years many boys and girls have enjoyed a Christian camping experience held each summer at the HEB Foundation Camp in Leakey, Texas. Frances also took part in numerous community activities. She was President of the Insurance Women of Corpus Christi and was elected President of the Federation of Insurance Women of Texas for 1981-1982. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Corpus Christi and enjoyed playing the piano for the Club members. Frances also sold real estate in Corpus Christi for many years and was a member of the Corpus Christi Real Estate Association.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Corpus Christi, at 3:00p.m., Wednesday, May 5.

A reception will follow the service in the Church's Fellowship Hall.
